it IS a good song but its really basic,
the drums are simple and kinda looped so it gets repetitive, the melody is good and catchy but doesn't really go anywhere progression-wise until halfway through the song.
the sound design itself is basic and sounds like 2 default patches strewn about with some reverb.
i dont think it was worthy of a featured section however mostly because its a basic remix, the same said to me is being said to you, you prolly remixed a GD track and put GD in the title to get views but who gives a shit
its just a number, all that matters is your effort and how much is put into the song
and you put some into this song which is noticeable but it doesnt sound like a lot, its not bad but it isnt the best.
id say just work on having more instruments in general that fit with the song, a few pads and arpeggios in the background wouldn't hurt, maybe some additional noises in the background too
oh and the bass seems really just not present in this or at least doesn't go lower than 100hz, try making a subbass and sidechain it to your kick channel on the mixer so you get clean bass all around.
no h8 only appreci8 m8
keep it up yo!

PancakePocket responds:

I agree with you. I wanted to keep one simple though because that’s my style when it comes to remixing! Thanks for the review!

i feel like the timing could be a tad more on point in the earlier portions of the song
its very catchy and quite interesting to be honest
maybe the drums could use a change here and there too
good song overall yo!

Epitaph64 responds:

Thanks a lot for the response! It's actually kind of a style I've been experimenting with. I've found that purposefully coming up with "close" rhythms and then building around that causes me to think creatively about the purpose behind the music more, as a sort of corrective mechanism which gives meaning to an otherwise "meaningless" thing. If the "question" posed melodically is already rhythmically correct, then it leaves little work for the the rest of the instrumentation to do in terms of creating a cohesive atmosphere for that distorted voice to live in so to speak.

wait, you're using ableton now? nice, i bought an alesis keyboard and got a free copy of ableton live 9 last year
thats pretty cool though, its nice to hear as change in pace with this song especially on a new DAW
is that sytrus you're using for your synths? very spacey arps
love the chord whips too
whatever you did to the hihats in the background was pretty cool sounding, feels like it adds more to the song

LOVE fucking LOVE this intro, melodic and the pads are glorious
hi hats add a little extra to the mix
nice kick drum
lead synths are a little quiet, i feel like they could be a bit louder
i think it could use a change of pace like halfway through the song, a little change doesn't always hurt
overall its a decent instrumental, just cant wait for the vocalized version

you want some help with vocals? ive been mixing female vocals for quite sometime now and attempting to incorporate them into my own music

damn

this song is great, its a very nice and catchy DnB track, especially for a soundtrack.
the lead synths were pleasant, very well designed, loved the melody and the progression throughout the song. drums cut through nicely.

sorry about the hearing loss issues.
ironic huh? you can do something as beautiful as bring music to the world but yet not hear it, but you still got your hearing and just by the sound of this song i think you're gonna do just fine
the mastering was great, the song sounds awesome, its a nice DnB track
technically speaking, because of visuals, you can still make music even without the ability to hear, think about it ;p

good job though yo!

Alloud responds:

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed!
I have to remember to swap the channels every now and then to make sure nothing weird is going on in the right channel, lol.

i feel like it could have used a sub bass that wasn't a kick drum
this was a good song however, i liked the progression you had going

DJEvilNeon responds:

I cut out a lot of sub freqs because it was overlapping. Perhaps I need more accurate monitors? lol

come back papa, we need yer music

there is the age old trick of exporting what you have as rendered audio and then drag it into your mix to make up sections you already completed
really good trick if you have shit processors, its what i used to do on my old laptop
good song none the less my dude
keep it up!

BeauXuan responds:

Thanks man. I generally freeze everything and hope my computer can handle it. I wasn't really fond of where this song was going anyway so I just let it go and thought maybe someone out there might like it. :)
Thank you for your words. :D

the mastering sounds decent actually, i think everything cuts through the mix nice and clean, could try transient boosting on the drums so they stand out more

the toms could use a little less boosting in an EQ to be honest
reverb sounds nice, honestly its a nice recreation
keep it up me dood!

ThomasTsao responds:

Thanks for an actual review. The transient boosting is a great idea, can't believe I hadn't thought of it while making this. I agree with you on the toms, I didn't realize until after publishing. Thanks for the tips!

pretty enjoyable little loop, reminds me of earthbound for some reason
keep it up me dude!

EatMyDonkey responds:

Thanks my dude! Have a good one. :)

HEYYYOOOOO i try to make some cool music, enjoy it if you want! i use FL studio 12.5 and ableton live lite
